Sending money takes about 30 seconds. Here's how.
Go to Messages and open the conversation with the worker on your bounty. The button appears once their work is complete. Service-booking and legacy direct threads don't offer it.
In the Details panel on the right side of the conversation, click the 💸 Tip or Reimburse button.
On mobile, tap the "Details" icon in the top-right of the conversation to open the panel.
Enter the dollar amount you want to send (between $0.50 and $10,000, within your remaining tip allowance) and click Send. Your wallet is used first if it covers the total, including the fee. Otherwise, you'll continue to Stripe's secure checkout page. Total tips and reimbursements to this worker on this bounty cannot exceed what they were paid for it plus $30. For larger transfers, the worker must first complete an eligible payout or identity verification.
Credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more: whatever Stripe supports in your country.
An 18% service fee is added to the amount you enter. The recipient receives 100% of the entered amount.
A wallet payment completes in the conversation; after Stripe Checkout, you're redirected back there. A system message appears in the chat confirming the transfer:
Both you and the recipient see the message and can view transfer history in the Details panel.
A worker with released pay on your bounty can receive a tip or reimbursement, even if they haven't linked a bank account yet.
If Stripe can pay your linked bank immediately, the transfer is sent automatically. Otherwise it appears in Account → Balance as withdrawable balance, and you can click Withdraw. Bank deposits typically arrive within 1-2 business days, depending on your bank.
No problem: the money is held securely on the platform until you're ready to withdraw. Your balance accumulates and you can withdraw everything at once.
Go to your Account → Balance and click "set up bank account". You'll be taken to Stripe to enter your bank details. This only takes a minute.
Once your bank is linked, go to Account → Balance and click "Withdraw". All held funds (from transfers and escrows) are sent to your bank in one batch.
View your current balance (both held transfers and escrow earnings) on your Account → Balance tab. Your balance includes:
Funds ready to withdraw (from completed transfers and released escrows)
Escrow funds still in the 4-day review window (not yet available)
Between $0.50 and $10,000 per transfer, subject to your remaining allowance. Total tips and reimbursements to a worker on a bounty cannot exceed what they were paid for it plus $30. The cap applies to the total of all transfers.
Yes. An 18% service fee is added on top. If you send $100, the recipient gets $100 and your total charge is $118.
No. The bounty owner can tip or reimburse the worker after their escrow payment is released. This is not a peer-to-peer transfer feature, and service-booking and legacy direct threads do not offer it.
The funds are held securely on the platform. The recipient can withdraw once they link a bank account from Account → Balance. There's no expiration — funds are held until withdrawn.
Tips and reimbursements do not use the escrow dispute flow. If you sent money by mistake, contact [email protected] with the transfer details. Do not assume the recipient can send a return transfer through the same conversation.
Yes. Escrow holds funds until task completion, with dispute resolution and a review window. Direct Send Money transfers are instant — once you pay, the recipient gets the funds or a withdrawable balance. Use escrow for larger tasks where you need payment protection.
